Independence Day

The Star Spangled Banner

This month holds much significance as we celebrate our country's independence, the day we became a new nation and were no longer a part of the British Empire. To represent this happening the flag was created, the flag promoted national pride and unity. Our flag holds significance in so many different ways! As Americans we should be proud to wear our colors and the symbol of our independence.

The red signifies hardiness and valor.

The white signifies purity and innocence.

The blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

The 50 stars represent each state that is a part of the United States of America; a new star was added as each state joined.

The 13 stripes represent the 13 British colonies that declared independence from the kingdom of Great Britain and thus became the very first states of the United States of America.

This is our countries emblem. A symbol we wear to support and show representation. These colors and symbols hold meaning in many different a ways for many Americans. Red white and blue separate are just colors, a stripe and a star are simply shapes, but when you put them all together they represent 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness'.

Here's to our freedom and independence!

Happy 4th of July from all of us at Miller's Appliance Service. Celebrate and be safe!
